With a month of 2020 underway, let’s take a look at the trends in the home for this year. Be the envy of your friends with the latest design concepts. One thing to say about trends is that these should be seen as starting points for a room, and I’m certainly not suggesting you use them all together. Maybe you’re needing some inspiration and what better way to be, than ahead of the curve? Read on…

Botanical prints

Whether it is wall treatments, prints or textiles, large botanical prints are a favourite for 2020. Just take a look at this gorgeous wallpaper from Milton and King.

Botanical trends

If wall paper is too much for you, you could add accent pieces in the way of soft furnishings, curtains or even throw pillows will give a gentle nod to this ever growing trend. Like this pillow from H&M.

Ok, I know what you’re thinking, but in small doses, this purple trend can look amazing. with the right balance this chair from World Market , would give your home the warmth that our previous pink predecessors did not.

Baskets trends again

Baskets for plants, baskets for toys, baskets just because. On the wall or floor, this is a big deal for any boho home. The basket wall is the new gallery wall, and that is something to celebrate. The great thing about this trend is it can be achieved very cost affectively. I am really loving these colour blocked numbers from West Elm.

The indoor garden

After those Christmas trees disappear from our homes, our new found space is crying out for greenery. This can be achieved with plants, terrariums and even preserved branches. You could even make a beautiful Mounted Staghorn fern for your home with our handy how to guide.

Brights and primary colours

For that instant pop or whether you just need something to brighten a space, the bright colour trend hits the spot. One of my favourite collections, are these vases from West Elm.
